HX Stomp

Emulates a Joyo American pedal running into a Marshall G30R 1x10" 30W Practice Amp. (A/B'd with real hardware!). We use a Compressor at the end (LA Studio Comp) to simulate the natural compression you get from the 30W low wattage speaker at high volumes. Unfortunately we dont have Speaker Distortion in the HX tools, but it's not really noticeable. We use the US Deluxe Vib AMP (Fender Deluxe Vibrato ch) since the JOYO American is based off the Fender 57 Deluxe. We use a Jazz Rivet 120 (Roland Jazz Chorus 120) amp to emulate the solid state Marshall G30R 30W practice amp, and We use the 10" Princess CAB since it's the closest thing to the Marshall's 10" speaker & cab. Placing the mic away from the cab to best match the sound. We low-cut at 185hz and high-cut at 3.2khz to further simulate the 10" speaker (which being a small speaker doesn't have a lot of bass, nor a tweeter for crisp highs). Plus EQ mid boost to emulate some of the G30R's boxyness. I run a Maxon OD808 (actual hardware) pedal into this, so I added a Scream808 (Tube Screamer) in case you dont have one. The TubeScreamer is on FS1, and a '63 Spring (spring reverb) tank on FS2 - key sounds for superczartemple. The Les Paul guitar is set to "Treble" and Bridge pickup, all knobs at 10. Rhythm with mainly 5ths (3 note powerchords), 3rds (2 note), and single notes, played in open/palm mute style. Playing (typically) into a single EV EKX-15p powered speaker. --------------------------- UPDATE: This is version 4 of the patch... ver3 wasn't tested enough, it sucked, and so it's gone, sorry :)

Look for JoyoAmMarshG30R with ver3 in the comment. ----------- This HX Stomp (or helix) patch emulates a Joyo American pedal running into a Marshall G30R Practice Amp with 1x10" 30W speaker. (A/B'd with real hardware!). We use a Limiter at the end (LA Studio Comp) to simulate the natural compression you get from the 30W low wattage speaker at high volumes. Unfortunately we dont have Speaker Distortion in the HX tools, but it's not really noticeable. We use the US Deluxe Vib AMP since the JOYO American is based off the Fender 57 Deluxe - ITS NOT PERFECT, the sound gets fuzzy (in a wrong way) when the bass is turned up, so we keep it at 3.9 (my joyo preference is 6), and adjust with the marshall amp's bass and with EQ later. We use a Marshall Brit Plexi Brt amp to emulate the Marshall G30R 30W practice amp, and We use the 10" Princess CAB since it's the closest thing to the Marshall's 10" cab. Placing the mic away from the cab to best match the sound. We low-cut at 185hz and high-cut at 3.2khz to further simulate the 10" speaker (which being a small speaker doesn't have a lot of bass, nor a tweeter for crisp highs). I run a Maxon OD808 (actual hardware) pedal into this, but you can use the built in tube screamer too - the real pedal is slightly less harsh, which i prefer. I included a TubeScreamer on FS1, and (I wish) a spring reverb tank on FS2 - key sounds for superczartemple (we have no more room for the reverb! sorry). My Epiphone Les Paul guitar is set to "Treble" and Bridge pickup, all knobs at 10. Rhythm with mainly 5ths (3 note powerchords), 3rds (2 note), and single notes, played in open/palm mute style. --------------------------- UPDATE: This is version 2 of the Marshal10Joyo patch (which originally used only 1 amp: the US Deluxe Vib). This patch uses _2_ amps, one US Deluxe Vib to emulate the joyo american, and one Marshal Brit Plexi Brt to emulate the Marshall G30R 30W 10" amp/cab. It's still not perfect. The marshal here doesn't hardclip on its input like the Marshal G30R practice amp does, but we preserved most of the harsh grit. The patch is expensive for HX stomp, and not much room remaining for anything else: I would have liked to add a spring tank (63' spring reverb or Dynamic Hall with trails)... The improvement over the previous version of this patch (Marshal10Joyo) is a grittier more aggressive sound that is closer to superczartemple's rhythm tone. Enjoy.

(A/B'd with real hardware!). We use a Limiter at the end (LA Studio Comp) to simulate the natural compression you get from the low wattage speaker at high volumes. Unfortunately we dont have Speaker Distortion in the HX tools, but it's not really noticable. We use the US Deluxe Vib AMP since the JOYO American is based off the Fender 57 Deluxe - ITS NOT PERFECT, the sound gets fuzzy (in a wrong way) when the bass is turned up, so we keep it at 2.5 (really low), and adjust with EQ later. We use the 10" Princess CAB since it's the closest thing to the Marshall's 10" cab. Placing the mic away from the cab, plus early reflections, reduces artificial crispness, adding a slight fuzz that the real speaker has. We low-cut at 190hz and high-cut at 2.6khz to further simulate the 10" speaker (which being a small speaker doesn't have a lot of bass, nor a tweeter for crisp highs). I run a Maxon OD808 into this, but you can use the built in tube screamer too - the real pedal is slightly less harsh, which i prefer. I included a TubeScreamer on FS1, and a spring reverb tank on FS2 - key sounds for superczartemple. I also included an IR loader for your convenience, you can switch from the cab to the IR, add whatever IR you like there - or ignore it. My Epiphone Les Paul guitar is set to "Treble" and Bridge pickup, all knobs at 10. Rhythm with mainly 5ths (3 note powerchords), 3rds (2 note), and single notes, played in open/palm mute style.
