Snapshot 1 = Clean Intro Snapshot 2 = Main rhythm sound Snapshot 3 = Wah Solo Snapshot 4 = Kirk’s cleanish wah for the intro. This patch can be used for pretty much any Metallica song. I designed this tone to be used in the FX return of your amp, hence why the cab block is off (but you could turn this on if you liked). Ideally the clean would be using a Roland Jazz Chorus amp as James uses, but as this patch uses snapshots I could only use one amp – hence the clean is a little hot – gotta love the Mesa amp though! I used a Klon pedal as an overdrive as James used to use one before they went all digital with their rigs. If the sound is a little bright for your tastes lowering the presence and treble control on the amp should do the trick. Metallica is my favourite band – playing along to their songs is amazing fun!
