Earth Wind and Fire's Shining Star was the inspiration for this tone. Clean amp with Ubiquitous Vibe and Ganamede reverb for extra modulation. Give your guitar some jangly strumming with that Jimi Hendrix Purple Haze chord and you'll be in Funky Town. Turn the bass up a little on the guitar's neck pickup and you get an 80s soul feel, a little like George Benson, or Kool and the Gang, or the yacht rock classic Pina Colada song. I also use it for the rhythm chords in Pharrell's Happy .
