This preset includes an intro snapshot for electric guitar to substitute for the acoustic capo'ed version as well as a crunch snapshot for the muted guitar in the fist verse. The 3rd and 4th snapshots are based on amps and effects used by Don Felder and Joe Walsh. Felder's snapshot includes a harmony block to approximate the double lines he and Walsh play on the outro. Of course, it's impossible to match their version with one guitar but this as close as I can get it for a live performance.NOTE: You'll need to switch off the Harmony block before Felder's solo. I could've created an additional snapshot but I prefer snap stomp mode which limits me to four snapshots. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks. Note I use a Fender Stratocaster American Standard Deluxe with DiMarzio Area pickups so you may need to adjust your EQ and other levels if using humbuckers.

Snapshot 1 = Clean 12 string Snapshot 2 = Main distorted sound Snapshot 3 = Solo ‘phasery’ sound Snapshot 4 = Solo Harmony. I designed this patch to be used with the FX return of your amp hence why the cab block is switched off, however you could turn it on again if you liked. For the clean sound I used the modulation pedal ‘Double Take’ which I felt got me the closest to the 12 string sound – alas the POD doesn’t (yet) have as 12 string sim pedal. I had to choose between two pedals – an MXR Phase 90 for the phaser sound on one of the solos, and a Tube Screamer. I went with the Tube Screamer because it really helps the harmonizer pedal track – without it it sounds pretty weak. It’s a real shame that the POD doesn’t have more pedal blocks – I’d have obviously wanted to put in a phaser, as well as a delay pedal and compression, but never mind – that’s what a Helix is for I suppose! Just so you know the harmonizer doesn't 100% recreate the sound on the record - most of the solo is in the key of B, with the guitars a 3rd apart, but for some notes this changes, hence it won't sound 100% spot on all the way through. To get snapshot 3 sounding a little bit ‘phasery’ (if that’s a word!) I turned on the ‘double take’ effect and tweaked it – not perfect, but the best I could do without using a phaser pedal. For snapshot 2 I turned the Tube Screamer off, but you could turn it on manually whenever you wanted. Tip - you'll want to change pickup lots throughout the song in order to get the right tones. What a classic song this is!
