I've tried to recreate a Malmsteen tone with a Marshall Plexi Amp and a DOD OD pedal. I didn't have a strat so had to use a guitar with humbuckers in split coil mode. Hopefully this translates well with single coils too. I've also added a pitch shifter in there so you can jam along to everything half a step tuned down which is foot switchable.
