I've been pursuing a Joshua Homme sound for a while. Where you head depends on era - Mexicola sounds a good bit different than If I Had A Tail. In the end, I didn't go for spot-on accuracy, but rather the ability to play Josh's parts with a band and add varying degrees of sludge. The basis is an Orange with a Minotaur in front. For dirt, you can add a Hedgehog or an Industrial Fuzz. If you REALLY want weird, hit FS2 - Stone Me. It puts an Orange preamp in front of the Orange amp for complete doom/stoner metal (Kyuss, Masters of Reality)
