I designed this patch to be used with the FX return of your amp hence why the cab block is switched off, however you could turn it on again if you liked. You can also turn on the wah pedal anytime using the toe button on the ex/pedal. People have debated whether Jimi used a Marshall of Fender Bassman for the actual recording – I went with the Bassman as it sounded right to my ears. I used the KWB distortion pedal as a boost as I thought it sounded the closest to the record. I also added a Uni-Vibe for the solo. Remember to tune down to Eb if you want it to sound just right. What a glorious song – it’s inspired so many guitarists!
