I designed this patch to be used with the FX return of your amp hence why the cab block is switched off, however you could turn it on again if you liked. I’ve tried to create a general tone that would work for a lot of songs off their earlier albums, before they starting using more pedals – and drugs! I’ve given you four options to work with. The slap-back delay snapshot can be used for various songs – e.g. on ‘Twist and Shout’. It can be used to create the sound on ‘Daytripper’ as well – there are two guitars there, but if you’re playing it alone it sounds more like the recording with the delay on. If you roll off the tone knob on your guitar you’d get close to the ‘Come Together’ tone and similar tones as well. I used a Fender Bassman amp, which they also used at different times. I tried out all the Vox amps - they were great but the Fender won out. Arguably the most influential band of all time – the amount of good songs they have is immense!
