Helix LT
I spent a tremendous amount of time creating a Stratocaster-only sound that would do the single coil pickups justice in the Helix platform. Using my 2013 American Standard Strat I set up a blend of the Bassman Amp and its cabinet, double mic'd and a Fender Deluxe Reverb, also double-mic'd. The path is set up over four path-lines, using the Helix's maximum DSP power. First is the Legacy Vetta Comp, followed by the superb Kinky Boost model of the amazing Xotic EP Boost pedal. Next I placed the Colorsound overdrive which sounds great. I inserted four Modulation effects: Legacy Script Phase, Boss CE1 Chorus, the Leslie tube-driven cabinet, and the Gray Flanger. There are two delays: the Adriatic set at 1/4, and the Bucket Brigade at 1/8 dotted. Both sit very low in the mix. The reverb is a '63 Spring Reverb. There are two EQs set to my preference for the Strat's single coil sound in this model rig. I have set up 8 Snapshots, from Clean to Dirty with two delays, and everything in between. It is not easy to create a preset that sounds good in general, and then plug in a Strat and expect to get the same great sound. I have given it a shot here, with a preset made with ONLY the Stratocaster's single-coil tone in mind. Enjoy, and make as many adjustments as you need to!
