I designed this patch to be used with the FX return of your amp hence why the cab block is switched off, however you could turn it on again if you liked. I researched that Kurt used various amps while recording Nevermind – for this song I went with the Fender Bassman which he used at some point recording the album. I then used the ‘Prince of Tone’ pedal instead of the obvious Boss DS-1 pedal that he was famous for using – I just couldn’t get the POD’s DS-1 to sound right, while the POT pedal was great. I later used a delay pedal along with a chorus pedal for the verse and solo sections. I still remember hearing this song for the first time (20 years ago) in my RS lesson at school – our teacher was explaining ‘nirvana’ from Buddhism and played this song to us – I was like, “Hello there amazing song!”
