Snapshot 1 = Intro and verse Snapshot 2 = crazy chorus fuzz Snapshot 3 = Solo. I designed this patch to be used with the FX return of your amp hence why the cab block is switched off, however you could turn it on again if you liked. The amp I’ve chosen is the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. I researched that live, Matt doesn’t use his trademark Fuzz Factory pedal for this song, but gets most of his gain from his Diezel V4H amp – as the POD doesn’t have this I went with the Mesa. I boosted it with a Maxon SD9 pedal to give it a bit extra fizz. For the chorus sound I tried lots of pedals, but the best to my ears was the Big Muff Pi pedal, boosted with the Maxon with an EQ change. Luckily though I’ve read that Matt has used a Big Muff before. For the solo the Wah is on – you’ll have to slowly move the ex/pedal to get that sweep you hear, especially at the start of the solo. Such a great song!
