I designed this preset to be both a universal bass tone and to capture the tone and feel of former MetallicA bassist, Jason Newsted from the Load and Reload era as closely as I could. This preset is not an exact match to Newsted's tone, but is inspired by and based on his setup and tone during that time in the bands career. This preset utilizes the new SVT 4 Pro, an Ampeg 8x10 cabinet, the new SansAmp model, and two different types of compression. This preset is also utilizes a chorus, flanger, (King Nothing, Until it Sleeps, Hero of the Day) and uses the Pitch Wham to allow the user to play in different tunings while using a standard tuned instrument. I took this idea from the user who crafted the St. Anger preset, so the credit for this must go to that individual. These can be turned off or on at any time at the users discretion. You do not have to be a MetallicA fan to use or enjoy this preset, as I use it at church regularly. This preset utilizes three snapshots to cycle through the different gain structures from the cleanest to the most distorted. If you have your settings set to Snap/Stomp you can access everything built into the patch without pedal dancing. I have found that the preset works well with many different types of basses ranging from modern style basses, jazz basses, Precision basses, and Stingray basses. I built this preset running through my Headrush FRFR 112 and occasionally my Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones.
