JMod Archon 2x12

For JMod Archon 2x12 by John Mayer, Dead & Co.

I based this on the L6 Archon models to try to get close to the new John Mayer J-Mod PRS amp (demo by John here: youtube.com/watch?v=y8m7W4UWIEE). It's a very snappy amp. This is a 4 snapshot model, and my board is set to 4 pedals on top and 4 SS below. It uses BOTH Archon models, though the JMod settings are most closely matched in GreenClean and GreenDirt - the Red Dirt and Red Gain channels are just more of the same. The Green J-Mod channels are pretty clean, full and snappy. Dare I say D-esque? I've had this kicking around for a month or so, and after I saw the Mayer demo, I thought 'this is kind of close to what I have'. I thought the Archons as setup by L6 were a little too boomy, but I'm not a fan of 4x12s. So I did a dual cab with 2 2x12s. Compression is always on after the cab (the JMod has a lot of compression going on, to my ears) but you can engage a normal Deluxe Comp before the amp for all of your Andy Summers tightening needs. I did this through a Clapton Strat, though it also sounds great through my '86 Schecter PT (dual humbuckers). It never gets too bassy. Kudos to L6 on the Archon.
