Well this another attempt at an incredible but super difficult tone to reproduce. Based off tone garageuk's version. I kept the amp (RevvGen Purple) but changed almost everything else. I have a custom guitar with electrics and pickups identical to the JS1000 so that was a good starting point. I recommend to start with bridge pickup at about volume 9 and tone 1 and work those controls like Satch does. The single coil is preferred as you get that delicate touch but maintaining fatness and sustain may be harder. There's a bit of extra 'edge' on the footboard if you need it. It's then about the amp and trying to achieve the same gain staging and dynamic senstivity - the same fatness but subtlety. Very hard to achieve, and I think this amp model is just too compressed a sound for emulating Satch precisely. But it's a great amp so it still sounds good. Next I will attempt with maybe a multiband Plexi which I suspect will get closer. But we don't have an exact model for Joe's sound. The midrange EQ is a bit of a hack there. An Ownhammer IR of a Marshall 1960B did make a lot of difference compared to the stock cabs. Sorry for that, just try to swap for something similar if you don't have it, but the Helix greenbacks are nowhere near as warm or fat. See what you can do with an additional eq just before the delays. I'm reasonably happy with the effects too. The delay is staying very close to Satch's "always on" live setup at one point. So it works on almost any other track too. The other mod effects are not meant to be exact. They are fun though and will work on other tracks on the album or in solos. A lot of the rest of the sound feels like it was achieved in post-production and mastering - oh and with Satch's hands. So overall I'm pretty happy with how close this is. Enjoy!
