Helix
If you've ever heard Jeff Schmidt's work (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_qrN3ti7L0) you've probably heard the eerie reverb/delay going on behind his main track. Using his signal chain in Ableton Live as a guideline, I tried to build a Helix preset that would at least be a starting point for the washy ambient background. This is the first preset I've made, so go easy on me. LoL This does work well with guitar and fretted bass as well as the fretless. Here's a demo of me using the preset by itself straight into my PC with no other effects (https://youtu.be/WrK6sBrLwp4). The EQ at the beginning of the signal chain is just a volume boost, and the one at the end of the chain is a volume boost as well. You can adjust those as you like depending on your bass signal and how much of the effect you want mixed in with your bass.
